I have been a Linux user for most of my time in high school, and all of my time in college. I generally prefer the operating system for it's stability, speed, and customization. I like that I can own my computer in every way. If something, goes wrong I can fix it. Better yet, every project become a learning experience. I value that kind of dynamism in many things. Having that kind of access to a computer is valuable to me.
Since 2022, I have been using the KDE Spin of Fedora OS. I generally like the large community behind Fedora and KDE has been my favorite kesktop environment since I knew what a DE was.
Originally, I had intended to double major in both CS as well as Philosophy, unfortunately, I had neither the time nor the money to make that a practical option for me. I still consider CS to be interesting and important to me, but as an aspiring lawyer, it just couldn't at the same priority as my primary Major.
Nevertheless, I have continued to study on my own time and plan on completing extra classes, when possible. Even though I am no longer a major, I still have a passion for computers and understanding them. I hope that someday this will become useful to me in the law that I practice.
I also consider myself somewhat of a hobbyist when it comes to tinkering with computer hardware. I love messing with fan curves, de-shrouding GPUs, and bringing temps down.. For this reason, I use this old LAN box. Sure it's not as pretty as a lot of the newer cases on the market, but with great airflow, a practical form factor, plenty of room for activities, and some of the coolest features ever put on a case, it's hard to beat.
As much as I wish that I had time for gaming, I just don't. I often sit down to try to play a video game and find myself distracted by other types of computer maintenance or exploring the CLI. I think video-games can be tremendous fun, but unfortunately, I just don't play them outside of social occasions.
